I won’t bury the lede here.

This is chiefly an update to OpenCult thought about The PSI-PHI Matrix (PPM).

The crux of this update is that:

• Psi (Ψ): Ψ = 1 globally (throughout the entire Omniverse)
• Phi (Φ): 0 < Φ < 1 locally (any given arbitrarily defined system or set of cosmological data/information in the Omniverse)

This is a monistic relationship where the Omniverse is, per Zen Buddhism, “One Bright Jewel.”

The PPM is defined by Observation and Censorship at both the Psi and Phi levels.

To refresh these concepts:

In OpenCult doctrine, Psi originates from parapsychology, where it refers to the hidden variable responsible for parapsychological phenomena and cosmic properties.

Parapsychology is the study of alleged psychic phenomena (extrasensory perception, telepathy, precognition, clairvoyance, psychokinesis (also called telekinesis), and psychometry) and other paranormal claims, for example, those related to near-death experiences, synchronicity, apparitional experiences, etc. … In parapsychology, psi is the unknown factor in extrasensory perception and psychokinesis experiences that is not explained by known physical or biological mechanisms. Here we use “psychology” and “parapsychology” to refer to psychological and parapsychological phenomena in general — not just the study of these two categories of phenomena.

The OpenCult view is that parapsychology is properly the basis of psychology. Psychology isn’t merely extended into parapsychology, where the individual mind within a being’s brain strictly reaches out into the Cosmos to interact with it. Rather, psychology is a subcategory of parapsychology. Parapsychology encompasses all systems, processes, properties, and phenomena. Reality is Psi.

This is where Phi comes in. Phi is psychology as a subcategory of parapsychology. It originates in the Integrated Information Theory (IIT) model of Materialist/Physicalist Panpsychism. OpenCult doesn’t claim to know all the technical theory and math behind the official IIT — actually, we don’t understand anything but the basic premise to the argument that there is plausibly a numerical value corresponding to the computational “integration” of a given physical system, and that since all such systems have a nonzero degree of integration, that all physical systems possess at least primordial consciousness, experience, and subjectivity. Furthermore, this view rejects a dualistic distinction between mind and matter — here, mind is matter, and vice versa.

This ties into OpenCult’s Panpsychic Multimind Panentheism (PMP), where the entire Omniverse and all its beings and other contents (including occult realms and beings) possess intrinsic basic consciousness. Reality is constructed out of numberless, infinitely groupable and infinitely divisible beings.

So Psi (parapsychology) refers to the general, monistic, unified totality of reality, and Phi (psychology) refers to the specific, particular, local structure of systems — such as we human animals of Earth and any other beings.

The Mythic Meta-Gamification (MMG) game Kernel (“engine” or “rule set”) is 10THDIM-DIAMAT-CMT, or 10th Dimensional Dialectical Materialist Chaos Magick Theory. This is a mashup of author Rob Bryanton’s Imagining the Tenth Dimension, Marxist-Hegelian Dialectical Materialism, and ideas from author Peter J. Carroll’s writings on Chaos Magick. We won’t delve too deep here, chiefly because I’m not a master of these three disciplines, least of all Dialectics; nor have I adequately synthesized them into a cohesive and coherent system. This entire blog project in general evinces and attempt at getting started trying to achieve these goals, though.

In The PSI-PHI Matrix (PPM) I wrote: Rob’s 10 dimensions are, an arbitrary point (0D), space (three dimensions), time (and probability-space and phase-space; three more dimensions), multiverse (three more), and the whole thing treated as a single point, or, the Omniverse (10D) … In the PPM, 10THDIM-DIAMAT-CMT, MMG, and OpenCult, the cycle continues by the 10D point “looping around” into every single 0D point. The whole is contained in each part, it is Psi all the way down, as above so below, as within so without.

This take is heavily influenced from the Hermetic motto “As above, so below,” which means that the microcosm is like the macrocosm. Here we go further and argue the bottom is the top — the Omniverse exists at every infinitesimal point within itself, throughout its entire 10 dimensional volume. This describes a mechanism supporting the easy imagination of infinite dimensions. 

Arbitrarily accepting this as being literally true, then Rob’s 10 dimensions may acquire additional dimensions of curvature; additional dimensions necessary to define very large spatial volumes; and additional dimensions “curled up” at very small scales; or any other additional dimensions necessary to mathematically describe the Omniverse as it really is.

For these reasons OpenCult interprets Rob’s ten dimensions as the “Key Dimensions,” defining a series of spheres or hyperspheres at dimensions 3 (space), 6 (time), and 9 (multiverse), where the uppermost 9 dimensional hypersphere is a single point “of indeterminate size” (Rob Bryanton, “Welcome to the Tenth Dimension (text-based version)”, tenthdimension.com) in the 10th dimension.

In PMP, the Omniverse inherits Superlative (omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent) Observation and Censorship from God, who is absolutely immanent (encompassing) and transcendent (surpassing) in relation to the Omniverse. Observation is the basis of reality (mind/matter), but in order for the global (macrocosm) to be passed down into the local (microcosm), it must be restricted and structured into specificity. This is accomplished by Censorship, the process limiting any and all superlative and absolute cosmic Observation into relative particularity.

So the PPM looks like this:

Where:

1. Psi Observation is superlative and absolute.
2. Psi Censorship delimits it.
3. Phi Observation is the result.
4. Phi Censorship is the difference or ratio between Psi Observation and Phi Observation

To reiterate from the opening of this post:

• Psi (Ψ): Ψ = 1 globally
• Phi (Φ): 0 < Φ < 1 locally

This does not meet the dictionary definition of Phi from IIT. Here and in the PPM we use it in the wrong way — a way we invented to relate it to PMP.
