Welcome to OpenCult.
OpenCult is a DIY anti-cult paradigm inspired by the ‘invented religion’ Chaos Magick, the ‘satirical religion’ Discordianism, and the criticism of Marxism as an atheist or materialist religion. It favors eclecticism, syncretism, and invention; even to the point of incoherent and untenable contradiction and paradox. Yet, while on one hand Chaos Magick advocates temporary, arbitrary belief; and whereas on the other hand traditional religions advocate fixed and static doctrine and dogma; instead OpenCult advocates a Middle Way between these extremes: invent and assemble a provisional, pragmatic, personal, psychonautical philosophy subject to whatever revisions and changes you yourself see fit, whenever you see fit, and become your own religious/spiritual leader. Embrace heresy, blasphemy, apostasy, and superstition, and then synthesize them into a homemade religious system. Subject your beliefs to your own creativity, contemplation, and inquiry. You have the final say . . .
After all, the method of the magus is to design and implement their own personal religion.
Traditionally cults (and all religions are categorically different kinds of cults) undermine your belief structures and immerse you in a new reality, subject to the whims of the charismatic cult leader. You don’t need a cult leader to systematically modify your own beliefs (though in giving yourself this power you should choose good beliefs for good reasons). OpenCult presents the option of autonomously experimenting with belief and agency in a decentralized and leaderless fashion. Given epistemological (theory of knowledge) skepticism and radical agnosticism (“nothing is certain, anything is possible”), invent and continuously reinvent the operational framework constituted by your own Belief, Will, and Perception.
That being the case, all the materials supplied on this site constituting OpenCult ‘doctrine’ (a rhetorical device to explain my opinion) are presented as means to the permanent and fundamental, ideological end of Occult Communism, or using Belief, Will, and Perception as tools to achieve mental and material results, chiefly for meeting objective human need, including collective power and freedom.
Put another way, the OpenCult method primarily directs parapsychology at psychology in the act of statistical, probabilistic illumination, or casting spells on oneself, individually or in groups, in order to organize, wage, and win the Holy Class War to establish and advance the Commune of Heaven on Earth and in the Cosmos.
Specifics are beyond the scope of this Demo blurb, but some of the the main concepts OpenCult seeks to research and develop are 10THDIM-DIAMAT-CMT, the Psi-Phi Matrix (PPM) and Panpsychic Multimind Panentheism (PMP).
For here and now, though, OpenCult‘s main doctrinal proposal is Mythic Meta-Gamification (MMG). The term ‘Mythic’ refers to the psychological and cultural hero’s journey inspired by the entire human narrative tradition, and it describes ‘Meta-Gamification’. Meta-Gamification is the practice of imagining and living life itself as a game — The Game:
- Player: Body, Mind, Spirit, Soul
- Input: Intent, Effort, Result
- Fun: Beingness, Meaningfulness, Happiness
- Challenge: Organize to Negate the Contradictions of Chaos
- Rules: 10THDIM-DIAMAT-CMT
- Moves: The Work: Work, Good Works, and the Great Work
- Team Moves: Resistance, Rebellion, Revolution
- Items: Commodities, Money, Possessions
- Resources: Contacts, Materiel, Property
- Score: Freedom, Power, Merit
- Story: 1EM+K+: Holy Class War → Commune of Heaven
- Win: Salvation, Liberation, Enlightenment
- Lose: Death, Collapse, Extinction
MMG altogether is a practice where we first of all manage and manipulate our own stories down to the level of belief, theory, praxis, and gnosis; and secondly actively construct, adopt, and modify stories specifically which transform our worldview, self concept, and life activities into heroic, spiritual game play. The first stage of The Game is a finite game whose rules, mechanics, parameters, boundaries, content, and values define a dynamic and interactive system of symbols and meaning which form a hypersigil which bleeds from our internal worlds into everyday life and the historical and cosmic world of society and nature. All of our perceptions of reality become an interface, all perceived elements become a network of signs, icons, stories, and portals within The Game. This finite game is played in order to transcend itself and initiate everyone on Earth into the Infinite Game, the second and final stage of The Game whose goal is open-ended game play with as many beings as possible for as long as possible in the entire Omniverse. But first the Occult Communist finite game of this world and its history, in this place and time, right here and right now, must be completed.
So we will play this game. And we will win.
